Hike & Seek: Wildlife Spotting & Photography

Combine nature, fun and photography as you map the UAE’s biodiversity.

About the activity

Individual scientists can only be in a few places at a given time. But hundreds of citizen scientists can help scout the country! Get your camera or phone cam, and let’s get snapping!

Collecting information about plants and natural habitats helps us understand how best to protect these natural wonders. During this activity, we’ll explore a region on foot, and snap photos of animals and plants as we hike across the UAE.

Time spent in nature is great for us humans too. You may find that it gives you a moment of calm, lifts your spirit, or boosts your energy. Maybe even all three!

The area of impact it contributes to

With your help, we can collect so much more data than if it was just us. This will contribute significantly towards our overarching goal to protect 30% of the UAE’s wild areas by 2030.

This activity also supports our objectives to:

  • Collect 5,000 new research grade observations of animals and plants in the UAE
