Ever dream of being a marine scientist? Find out what it’s like!
As part of this exclusive conservation opportunity, you will take a ride out to sites and reefs teeming with marine life.
You will work with conservation experts to set up and deploy cameras to gather data about marine wildlife, using Baited Remote Underwater Video Surveys (BRUVS). You will also meet our team of conservationists to learn what that they do and how it makes a difference.
This activity will continue throughout the year, as we monitor marine life across different seasons.

With your help, we will collect data and footage which will support the conservation of marine ecosystems and underwater species.
We will survey many different species, find out how healthy they are, where they breed, what challenges they face, and how Marine Protected Areas affect their populations.
The data collected will also inform National Plans of Action for conserving sharks, rays and turtles and support global IUCN red listing efforts.
This activity supports our objectives to:
· Protect 30% of the UAE’s wild areas by 2030
· Collect 5,000 new research grade observations of animals and plants in the UAE

I had this extraordinary opportunity to participate in the "UNDERWATER WILDLIFE SCANNER" event hosted by Emirates Nature WWF, which I'm excited to share about. This event was a truly transformative experience for me as it was my first-ever dive into the deep sea alongside others who share the same enthusiasm for ocean life. Despite my initial fears of water and concerns about my inability to swim, I found the experience deeply enriching and unlike anything I've encountered before. It not only boosted my confidence but also inspired a newfound interest in marine life and the challenges it faces. This experience was truly enlightening, and I am motivated to explore more about our oceans and their incredible inhabitants.
Please note that events may be cancelled or rescheduled due to updated safety guidelines from the government. We will try our best to keep you informed of any changes as early as possible. Thank you for your understanding and support.
